I just saw this new rifle on the Savage web site. Does anyone here own one? It is available in .223 and .22Hornet.
Have you heard any feedback? Thanks

I also saw this model 40 on the Savage website. What I don't understand is it has a 24" heavy barrel, laminated stock and still comes in under 8 lbs. I'm surprised, but pleased they can make it that light. It's an attractive enough rifle. I would like to have one in .22Hornet. Best
wishes.

I don't think the Model 40 is out yet. When it is available, I'll get one in 22 Hornet and the first load I'll try in it will be 11.4 grs. of AA #9 with a 40 gr. V-Max @ about 2950 to 3000 fps. Godsdog.

Guys...

I just posted in the Small Caliber forum when I checked the link for another member...looks like they have added .204 Ruger to the list of chamberings!
