| I also saw this model 40 on the Savage website. What I don't understand is it has a 24" heavy barrel, laminated stock and still comes in under 8 lbs. I'm surprised, but pleased they can make it that light. It's an attractive enough rifle. I would like to have one in .22Hornet. Best wishes.

| I don't think the Model 40 is out yet. When it is available, I'll get one in 22 Hornet and the first load I'll try in it will be 11.4 grs. of AA #9 with a 40 gr. V-Max @ about 2950 to 3000 fps. Godsdog. |
