I would like to know what you focus on maybe why?

I know switching back and forth takes time and accuatie(?).
what are your thoughts, anybody!

I would have to say both. You have to focus on the crosshair in order hit the target, and you need to focus on a particular spot in order to hit where you are aiming in a consistant manner.

Matt-

With a properly focused scope, the reticle will appear to be on the same plane as the target, so no "refocusing" is required while looking through your scope.

Take your scope & look through it at a clear sky, with nothing else in the field of view. If the crosshairs aren't clear *right now*, you need to focus it some more. Turn the ocular lens (the one closest to you) and look again. If still not clear, turn it again (it requires rather large amounts to see any difference, so don't bother with quarter turns) & repeat. When it is clear as soon as you look through it (don't take time to focus your eye on it), it's ready to go.

Then you won't have to shift your focus back & forth, it will look like the crosshair is "on" your target.

What Cold Bore said. That's excellent advice...

If you can't get the scope to focus for some reason (shooting at very close ranges with certain scopes comes to mind) then focus on the crosshairs and quarter the blurry target the best you can. That's not preferable, mind you, it's just what I'd do in a "have to" situation.

But as Cold Bore said, if all is right, the crosshairs and target will be in equal focus.
