I've probably shot over 200 coyotes in my life and I've never seen this color variant. It looks like it has a lot of dog in its ancestry (Maybe collie). This one and his/her mate have been roaming my property this week.

I'll bet you are correct.

Some years ago, while coyote hunting in some light falling snow toward the end of daylight, I came over a small hill, following very fresh coyote tracks, and I spot one.

I quickly sat down and lined up the scope, when an Irish Setter appeared right next to the coyote I was about to shoot.

In the low light, I wasn't sure that it was a coyote in the scope and I did not want to shoot a dog, so I did not shoot.

The bino's confirmed it was a coyote, but I could not get a shot, and never saw that one again.

I shot one years ago that was more of a red chow, but definitely a coyote.

I shot one in Texas when hog hunting with my 416T.

Speer350gr mag tip at 2550fps DRT.

That the face of a Pug and body of a yote.

I have a lot of normal colored coyotes also.

The 36 grain Barnes Varmint grenades sure do some damage when you hit a coyote at 100 yards with a muzzle velocity of 4337 fps!

Same bullet, same load at 310 yards. It sloshed when I picked it up by the tail.
