Me and Ol Purp went out after work this evening to celebrate my birthday. I thought what a better way to have fun turning 46 than to take out my favorite Swift and call. I hit a pasture that I seldom call, maybe once a year. To call it,the wind has to be perfect out of the N/NE. I had that very wind this evening. I set up near my favorite mesquite bush and let rip a tune on a purple Syco. Within 2 minutes a yote came out of the thick brush and up the oilwell road heading to me. I drop him with a neck shot and keep calling with a serious critter in pain tune. Maybe another 2 minutes go by and this old tom comes out of the brush onto the road maybe 40 yards closer from where I dropped the yote. Another neck shot and I have two animals down in the same road within 40 yards from one another. This all took place within 5 mintes or less. I began calling at 4:50pm and after I composed myself after the cat kill it was 4:55. Not very often does one get a dog and cat on the same set so close in time and proximity. What a birthday present!!! I'm glad the V max didn't exit the cat like it did the dog. The yote had one major exit hole. The cat has minimal fur damage and his hide is in the freezer. I ate the cake before I went calling. These were the presents. I didn't mind at all peeling the cat in the cold. Texas Verminator Verminator Predator Calls Pro Staff | |||
