Just a few pics from going out Monday...
weather was heavily overcast, the number of sage rats out was a bust... but we still managed to bust a few...

Seafire Jr got this one at about 50 yds with a Win Model 94/22

Below, close up of one nailed with a 223 in a Model 70, with a load of 13.5 grains of Blue Dot, and a 55 grain SP Hornady...distance at about 100 yds...

close up for those who don't have a weak stomach..

And my apologies for our Wisconsin Friends, but this was an Oregon Badger anyways...
check out the claws on that thing!

and a side View:

Poor day, as I only got to nail about 50 to 60 sage rats.. the alfalfa was too high, and the population was way down compared to its usual yield...

could have been the cloudy weather also...

did nail a couple or four at about 300 yds, in a clearing on a bank...

Disappointing, but still SOME fun at least...

cheers

A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?" The Ranger responded, "Because they don't make a 46."

Seafire, Any day afield is a good day. And one where your son is along has to be an excellent day.

Should you be in need I believe I have some spare firing pins for the 94/22 and the 94/22mag.

Best
