I am thinking of organizing a small predator hunt to the us, currently I have tracked an outfitter in Alberta Canada, but he cannot offer bobcats. I think it is a pretty good deal so I'm gonna try and go for it. Are there any bobcats in nearby states/provinces? is there any body with KooooooEEEEEEE of that area that would take me out for a bobcat? Thanx all.

Express: The state just south of the Province of Alberta, Canada is Montana, U.S.A. but unfortunately Bobcat Hunting there is restricted to residents of the state of Montana and a resident needs a "Trappers" license to Rifle Hunt Bobcats. And they do not issue Trappers licenses to non-residents. I do not know why? British Columbia to the west of Alberta in Canada has lots of Bobcats in many areas but I do not know the regulations on Bobcats there. No license at all or permits are required to Hunt Coyotes, Foxes, Skunks, Badgers, Prairie Dogs, Ground Squirrels and many other Varmints in the state of Montana! If I wanted to Hunt both Coyotes and Bobcats I would go to the state Of Texas in the U.S.A. from the research I have done and the videos I have seen I am sure you would have a succesful Hunt for the two there. Alberta is a beautiful place and Coyotes are abundant up there but I am not sure about the Bobcat Hunting in that Province. Lots of Wolves in northern Alberta. Good luck on your Varmint Safari! Florida and most of the Southeast is full of bobcats but they don't have very good pelts. Need a northern climate for that. If you want to mount a big one with good pelt you should probably stay pretty far north. On the other hand we get some pretty big toms down here and almost noone hunts bobcats in Florida. I mention it to people and they look at me like I'm from another planet and have three heads. Too bad though... You can hunt them on most of the many Wildlife Management Areas for several months a year and take one a day. You may have to use a rimfire in small game or turkey season but a well placed shot with a 22mag should do it. The cats come to fawn in distress all the time when I'm deer hunting and act pretty surprized when they see me... Like they've never been called before. I've seen 'em attack wild piglets and it's a riot to watch. A lot of squealing and thrashing around but the sow usually prevails. The cats are game but the pigs are pretty hardy with a thick hide and a wild sow will lay down her life any time to protect a piglet. I've got a buddy that swears he saw a big tom riding a yearling doe like a jockey on a race horse a few years ago and the doe was running all around the woods bawling like a jersey calf!!! Said he nearly fell out of his treestand laughing. $bob$
