I have the t3 lite SS Lefty in a 300WSM. The varminter is the same action (right only) w/ a additional forarm grip and a cheak piece. The trigger is one of the best in the market and their barrels are excelent for factory standards IMHO. Excellent shooter for a factory rifle, smooth action.

I just had a Tikka T3 Varmint Stainless in my grubby mits last week. Overall left a solid impression; if they shoot anywhere near as good as they look it'll be a real consideration for me.

According to Tikka's website the Varmint Stainless IS available in Left Hand but not the vanilla-flavored blued Varmint or Super Varmint versions. It does not however, specify which calibers/cartridges are available in L/H.

I've had one for about three years and am very happy with it. Excellent shooter right out of the box, very smooth action, and nice trigger. I would highly recommend it. Shoots many different loads well under 1" (see recent post re:53 gr. TSX); but having some difficulty getting TSX's & 60 gr. NP to group well in 1:14 twist. Otherwise, great gun.

The 60 gr is probably a little too long for a 14 twist. This will shoot the 52 g and under well.

I shoot one and am very happy with the performance out of it with 55 gr Nosler BT's. I would buy another again.

Doug-I haven't used the fat tubed one but I have the light tubes, they shoot quite well. The heavy tubed one would be incredible I am sure.

I've sort of a hankering to try a 204 and when I find one of the T3 lights in a 204 it will most likely go home with me.

Call me at the house one of these days if you wish.

Same to ya Mark and if you end up with that .204 give me a holler and we can chat about the wonderful world of small caliber madness dancing.

M D my Tikka varminter is in 260 Rem, and although not a varmint caliber it is one fine shooting rifle. I haven't really got into it yet, as the only load I have fired in this rifle is factory Fed 120 Btips. but they shot very well. Can't wait to see how it shoots with some hand loads.

My little brother got one in .223 last year, and currently has a 3.5-10 (?) Vari-X III on it. It has the heavy barrel, the wide forend, and the cheekpiece. We have not had to handload yet, but it will easily group under .75 inch at 100 yards for 6 shot with the Winchester white box ammo. I don't remember what it is called, but it is 55 gr. HP I think. I would buy it if he ever wanted to sell. I think it is a great rifle. Hope you find one that you are happy with.
Regards,
Graham

I have the Tikka T3 SS Lite in 22-250, it is a great gun especially for the money. I loaded 40gr Nos & 55gr Nos bullets, I got respectable groups with the 40gr Nos using Benchmark & Varget powders but the 55gr Nos with H380 or H414 has performed the best by far.

I have the T3 Varmint in 22-250. It shoots well with Winchester factory ammo (45g red/white box), even better with Speer TNT 50g over 37.6g RL-15

Just my 2c,
Yep awsome get one!!
Simple answer, everybody else has told you every thing esle so a big DITTO to all other replies.
The only rifle I dont own which isnt a Tikk/Sako is my 22 and wouldnt change any of them theyre awsome value. 1" group @ 300 yrds with my Tikka T3 Stainless laminate 300 WSM says a lot for them IMO.
One more thing when you get it, wind out the trigger screw until it hits the stopper, that should give you a nice crisp 2lb pull, check it first though we dont want ADs now do we!!
Thats about all you will need to do.
The other neat thing about the 22 250 is that youve got HEAPS of room in the mag to load to LANS which is a limiting factor in most factory rifles

Good luck

hello...
I've got a T3 Varminter in .223 Rem - it does sub-1/2MOA 3-shot groups ALL DAY LONG with my recently developed 24.0 gr. Varget + Sierra 69gr HPBT Matchking load. It has also done several sub-MOA 5-shot groups with Remington factory ammo.
I love that rifle... it's probably my 2nd favorite rifle I've ever owned (and I've owned a large pile of 'em) - right after my Sako 85 in .260 Rem. which is absolute PERFECTION.

I don't own one, however a shooting buddy of mine up here has one, in 22-250. He showed me his last four groups and they were amazing. All four 5 shot groups at 100 yards measured 1/4" to 3/8". I was flat impressed!!!
Don't know his exact loads except that he's using 55 grain V-Max bullets and 4895 powder.

They advertise a LH version in the varmint T-3 but I can't find anyone that has them. Does anyone know of a source for them?

I've been in their store numerous times and they do have 3-4 LH Tikka T-3's. None of them are varmint models, however.
I may have to resort to using my whitetailer 22-250, although its not a varmint weight barrel.
