I went out alone today to our honeyhole farm, as GHD was unfortunately otherwise occupied and had a remarkable day afield. Using my 22-250 only, I got 10 chucks and only missed two. I got several around the 400 yard mark and was about to go home when I spotted two at 575 and 520 yds at the same time almost in line with each other. I smacked the 575 one and the 520 one was just peeping. He refused to come out, so I tried a shot anyway and rolled him up out of the hole! While I was sitting there feeling pretty good about the two farthest shots I had ever made with a 22-250, I spotted another one that ranged 710 yards. A considerable L-R breeze had kicked up- SWAG estimated at about 8mph. I dialed up 13MOA on the Leupold 16X and held off about 4 feet into the wind and smoked that big sucker, tail flagging, on the first shot! With that, it was time to officially close out the season and go home and have a celebratory cold beverage. I appreciate all your-alls support and indulgence this year on the forum!

Way to go Bobby!! Wish I could have been there but sometimes I really do have to work!! I may figure out a way to get one more day afield this fall sometime but it's not looking promising! 2010 was definitely a great "chuckmushing" year for us though! I think we need to figure out a way to get fertility drugs in the old sows over winter so they will deliver record numbers of targets for next year!! GHD Groundhog Devastation(GHD)
