CZ's are just the ducks nuts if you ask me,

I would like it if I could get a hs precision stock for my cz 527 .22 hornet seeing as there on other cz rifles.

Is the .204 ruger any good or is just a flash in the pan ??

PC, No I don't think the .204 is a flash in the pan! Why? Well it was based on a tried and true case(222MAG) which had seen duty on the BR circuit in it's original configuration and then mopped butt when taken up to 6mm.....6x47, until Pendall and Palmisano decided to bring out their PPC rounds!! My initial testing and varmint hunting using the 204 have just confirmed the fact for me that the 222MAG case was a good one and the folks at Hornady and Ruger had forethought enough to neck it down and produce the first commercial 20 caliber! There is no recoil to this round using factory 32's or handloaded 32's.....my 15 year old daughter shot a groundhog at 219 yards using it the other day and her first comment was, "Daddy I saw the bullet hit him!!! And the stuff fly out!!! " That was thru a 6.5-20 Nikon on 20X when she shot!! It is doing in the .3's and it's a factory SAVAGE VLP with nothing else done to it! The 32's create "mush" when stiking groundhogs and don't exit for the most part....shot another one this PM at 220, neck shot, no exit! You folks that save fur may want to examine this one! 1.6X the bullet weight of the 17caliber Hornady VMaxs at the same velocity!! You do the math! This one is a winner!! Just my thoughts and opinions!! GHD

The .204 is going to be considered as the thinking man's varmint round in the future.

It shoots as flat and nearly bucks wind as well as a .220 swift out to 400 yards yet has less recoil, burns less powder in a cartridge that fits in short mini actions like the Sako Vixen,CZ 527 and the Zaztava Mini Mauser.

It is simply a neat little varmint round and another well designed cartridge from Hornady's techs..

Page 34 of the June 2004 Shooting Illustrated has more about the .204 Ruger round. Darn hard to keep up with all the new rounds that have come out. The 17HM2 or .204 Ruger will be my next rifle but what brand rifle ????
