We have so many of these green iguanas in our backyard, that I shoot a few every now and then and feed them to our crocs.

Above you see a few I shot a couple of days ago. I use a single shot 410 and #6 3 inch shells.

The croc love them.

It's hard to tell without something to scale them with, how big are those things? My daughter had a green iguana for about 5 years but it was only about 16" long.

Yo Saeed,

An impressive looking "Strecke".

That looks like alot of fun!

Is this challenging or sitting Duck Shots?

At what kinda range? In trees, on the ground?

Do they hop, skip & jump around.....or just sorta slither around?

Do they charge when cornered so you gotta whack 'em at shoelace ranges?

hilbily

PS What about the Crocs? Do you hand-feed them or toss from a safe distance?

You could do a sorta reverse 1 mile shot like at PD's 'cept you get more credit the closer you toss it to 'em. Like the photos in South Dakota with the guys holding their rifle with a PD and a bit of cardboard with 1,000 meters scrawled on it.

Say a photo of you tossing the lizzard to the Croc with your .410 and a bit of cardboard that says:

1 yard!

shocker

Cheers,

I am afraid it is not much of a hunt.

I shot all these from a tree.

They are about 3-4 feet long.

and here I have been so tempted to just shoot the neighborhood cats with the 17 HMR...

that would be a blast knowing I would be able to feed their ass to some croc or alligator afterwards...

Those crocs look like you feed them well. They appear to be very old with almost no teeth left. Ask them if the iguana tastes like chicken! Smiler

popcornSaeed, if a .410 is affective wouldn't a 22 LR offer a little more sport? I think I'd like to visit your back yard with something like a 10/22.nice photos ! beerroger

We live in a residedtial area, so I avoid shooting 22 outside unless against a wall or something.

These are shot high up in trees.

Gotta LOVE the 410 for that kind of shooting.
That's what I use for Squirrel hunting as I won't shoot a Squirrels up in trees with a 22; you don't know where the bullet will fall.

You didn't use lead shot, did you? According to conservationists, you'll lead poison them in short time! Roll Eyes

Saeed,

How big are your crocs?

The 410 obviouly gets the job done, but would not a .22 cal be a little more sporting on a lizard?

Don't post this on the "Cats" forum or you will be in a good tongue lashing. I am sure these lizards are someone's pets.

Saeed, please understand this comment is somewhat tongue in cheek...

But don't you worry about the Crocs getting lead poisoning?

Ditto everything here, only using U.S.
politicians. Beware though, they are full of
90% B.S. That may be worse poisoning than from
the lead shot!

Saeed, Marlin used to make a smooth bore .22 they called the Garden Gun specially to shoot shot shells. It would be quieter for the neighbors. However, they probably need reminding what that shooting you do is for. I bet nobody slips into your pool while you are off in Africa.

+1
Didn't Remington make one too? It had the Routlage bore IIRC, that was smooth and you could shoot miniature Skeet with it.

Saeed,

Off topic, but do you have any leopards as pets?? I know that you have cheetah's, but I never heard you mention leopards.
They are my favorite animal, and I killed one in Zimbabwe in 2006. I have studied leopards since my childhood and have heard that they can never be trusted around people like cheetah's can.
Just wondering if you ever had one.
