I have recently began hunting squirrel with my .22 and I was wondering if there is a squirrel hunting season?

My dad got a couple of 12G shotguns... Is hunting squirrels better with shotgun or .22?

Also, does anyone skin squirrels for their pelts? I did it just for the hell of it and made a small ammo pouch, though I didn't really know what I was doing.

Any instructions on skinning/tanning would be appreciated.

I believe some states have seasons, some don't. You need to check your local Fish&Game department. Most of them have a website. Do a search for Fish & Game and your state.

Well I did a little research, and as far as I can tell there is no squirrel season or regulations for hunting them in Washington. Does that mean hunting them is considered poaching, or is it just ignored?
