Want to hunt in the vicinity of Lubbock, Texas in the next couple of weeks and need some leads on places to hunt. Don't need a guide or anything, but am willing to pay the landowner a reasonable trespass fee for the use of his land (although I'm also willing to shoot for free ). If anybody can steer me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thanks, Stone

Have you tried the Texas Parks and Wildlife website? I noticed they have wildlife management areas listed. It costs $40 or so for a permit and the maps, but I believe if you go to a WMA you can just pay for day use. You might also try the Corps of Engineers, as in my area it's free to hunt on Corps land(just make sure you have a hunting license).

Thanks for the suggestion. I just got back from my trip yesterday and was able to connect up with a couple of accomodating landowners. The PD's weren't especially thick, but the shooting was steady and the trip was well worthwhile.
