I just got the Colorado Div of Wildlife Annual Report. The Dow has determined that there is 631,000 Acares of Prairie Dogs in CO. Six times as much at the National Wildlife Fed. reported in 2000 to the USFWS, when asking for listing of the Prairie dog in the Endangered Species list. It lets you know that the National Wildlife Fed. has there own agenda. Thom Peetz CO

I've been hunting dogs in CO. for about 10 years and everybody knows there are alot more of them than they wanted to admit! The idiot tree huggers from The Republic of Boulder are behind this kind of crap and facts obviously don't mean anything to these people! Now that the numbers are closer to the truth, do you really think they will lighten up on the hunting restrictions for doggies? They will probably say that all of the hunting regulations are the reason for the increase and try to tighten them up further. I know how this state works! Elk Country

It broke my heart when they first posted NO blacktailed prariedog hunting in the smallgame brochure. But then it said call for more imfo. The DOW offical said that if the landowner considered them a nusiance, have at it.I asked about the reports of [endangered]he said the truth will come out shortly.I guess this is what they call APPEASEMENT.

I know the feeling, guys. Fortunately, there is a clause in the regs referring to landowners' "agents." My hunting buddy and I have made up a little form releasing the landowner from any responsibility for us and naming us as his/her "agent." Works great whenever we talk to DOW people.
