I don't know why I want to do this, but I'd like to work on an accurate load for varmint bullets in my 30-06. It's not the damn cat clawing up the end of the couch, honest. The Sierras are available everywhere and cheaper than most anything. If my 30-06 likes 180 to 220 grain bullets pretty well, is there much chance I'll get good accuracy with very light bullets? H. The Sierra 125 gr is a proven game and varmint getter. It's a very accurate bullet as well. I never gave the 110's a chance as the 125 has a much better balistic coeficient.

I've used the 110 grain, and it works. I also think the 125's are a better bullet. 1)110 grain Sierra #2110 Imr 4895 53.5gr WLR/W-W cases COL: 3.0" VEL: 3266fps 2) 125 Sierra #2120 IMR 4320 55.0 WLR/W-W COL: 3.080 VEL: 3105fps

I loaded up some Sierra 110 grain hollow points in my Browning 30/06. After the 180 grain and 220 grain round noses, that is the most accurate bullet out of that rifle. I chronyed some loads out of a manual at 3500 fps. It was one hole accuracy at 100 yd. Recoil was stout for a varmint set up, but it would be fun if you wanted to explode a PDog. That was my reason for loading up about a 100. That or a 110 grain SP or RN I would not hesitate to carry for the small black tail deer we have here in Western Oregon. ![]() ![]() ![]()

The 110s work exceptionally well in my 308 with either Varget of IMR 4064.

Henry, I used to shoot them in the various /06s I had over the years. The 110 was never my most accurate bullet but it shot well enough. Very explosive, as you would expect. I wouldn't shoot anything I intended to eat with it. ![]() I'll also agree with several of the others that the best compromise bullet in 06 if you are looking for speed AND accuracy is the 125gr. I used to have a .308x1.5" and it shot the 125s better than anything.

I've used the Sierra 110gr. HP in my Browning Micro-Medallion in .308Win. I'm a big fan of Sierra bullets, especially from the bench, but not necessarily this one. It's only .804" in length which is a bit short for obtaining a good OAL. I've also used the Remington 125gr SPSP and don't get great results with that one either. The Nosler 125 Bal.Tip is longer, and I feel more accurate. Possibly part of this is due to my rifle, but I do get beter results with Nosler. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal
