Another thing I have been playing around with lately, in several rifles, that has come to my attention as a very accurate bullet and real easy on the wallet compared to the other spendy trendy stuff, is the good old Hornady 60 grain SP! I was checking out some groups that it yielded with a batch of different powders in a Ruger 77 Mk 2, that is a semi finicky rifle... however, it sure loves these 60 grain Hornadys..... I also gave it a try in my Savage 12BVSS, with the 1 in 9 twist.. and it performed equally well... in fact, it has proven to be as accurate in several 223s, as the 50 & 55 grain V Maxes... and in the Savage, less finicky with different powders than the 60 grain V Max! so I thought I would also bring this up to anyone's attention that may be on the look out for that sort of stuff like I always am! cheers and merry christmas to everyone... seafire

Both the 60 grain spire point and hollow point offerings from Hornady have been among my favorites for years along with the 50 grain SX. They perform exceedingly well and go to prove that it doesn't take a polymer-tipped projectile to shoot well and perform admirably on game. And now that you mentioned using the 60 grainer in several firearms with good results, I cant seem to recall any rifle I've had that didn't do well with them, either. The same can't be said for other projectiles... Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri
