Help me out fellas. Which direction (up down)
does mirage lead to when shooting? Today my
shots grouped well but 2in higher at 200 than
they should. This rifle has a scope that I don't trust(poi moves fromtime to timebut groups are fine)
Thanks

Typically, mirage has more affect on the horizontal than the vertical.

Don't assume that your point of impact movement is due to the scope (although it could be). It is much more likely that you may be experiencing shifts due to minor stock warpage due to humidity changes or some other mechanical problem with the gun than with the scope. By changing out the scope temporarily with a borrowed scope of known performance (perhaps off of one of your other guns or from a friend's), you can get a better clue as to whether the scope itself is at fault.
