sam308here in kansas they are groundhogs so it must be a regional thing.

proplinkerHere in Indiana we call them groundhogs, in Ohio you will find Woodchucks, and I have hunted rockchucks in Idaho. If you ask my Sako Vixen she does'nt care what you call them, she just wants to hunt!!!

In Pennsylvania, we called the groundhogs on Saturday, and Woodchucks on Monday..

HairtriggerEach name is used about the same amount here in Ohio. Groundhog, woodchuck, hog, chuck. I think hog may be used less as wild boars move into the area
