I'm in the market for a new varmit scope was thinking of getting a Mueller 4-16x50AO tactical. Does anyone have experience with this scope or atleast thi brand. I really like the idea of getting that big a scope for the price, but am hesitant as i was lured hypnotized by the factors before and was burned. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking at picking up the 6 x 25 Eradicator in the same brand name.. I asked about the company and the feed back was small but positive...

I like what I see so I will try one.. or least order it and see it up close.. if I don't like it I will just return it...

I was also looking at picking up the Super Sniper in a straight 10 power at $299.00....

Where were you thinking of ordering yours from... so far SWFA and the Company and Grafs are the only sources that I have found on them...

Grafs has a good return policy if you don't like something...

I am hoping I like them because if so, the 4 x 16 is the next one on my list also...

Seafire,

Thanks for the advice I first tried to find reviews online, but all I could find were connected to Mueller so of course they were positive. Haven't yet thought of where to order from, but return policy could prove to be a very important factor. Hopefully more people reply to this.

My shooting buddy has one. It seems to be a decent scope but it is not as clear as as my Nikon Buckmaster. He likes his Mueller and has not had any problems with it.

I know it sounds as if you're already looking at a certain brand by your post......but if in your budget the 4200 elite sure warrants a look. I use one on a 22-250 varmint gun and the holding POI and tracking qualities are tops. Optics are bright and clear, comes with a sunshade, and I believe has a no questions asked money back offer if you don't like it. Just a thought....

gotta couple 3 muellers with no complaints. the 4x16 i've had for about 3 years with no grief at all. maybe not as clear as expensive ones, but they work just fine when not using them as binos. only minor problem as been that the 8x25 is a bit shot on eye relief.

The only problem with mueller is customer service. I returned a scope for service (wouldnt adjust left) It took six months and I had to have my friend who is a purchasing agent for a sporting goods chain shake them down before they just sent me a new one.

I've changed my mind yet again and decided on a Nikon 4.5-14x40 mil-fot scope, but thanks for all the advice.

I have two of those on varmint rifles...

you are not going to be disappointed!!!

Its nice when you are in a position, that there are no wrong choices....

Hope you enjoy yours half as much as I have enjoyed mine...one is on a 223 and the other on a Rem VLS in 260...
