You know, maybe i'm a little confused about this. Are there guys out there that are actually calling these guys liars, but not to their faces?

Certainly Not! I do have a problem with people using semi-automatic rifles to lay down a barrage on a Prairie Dog Town. Rather see people that knew their basic limitations using aimed slow fire. I tend to push my limits a little, even then.

I too am a varmint hunter, I think this kind of discussion is a wonderful thing. It's not that every one of us will agree with each other at the end of this, but it's pretty hard to read it all and not take a look at your own hunting ethics. When it comes time to decide what's ethical when hunting the guy that's going to decide is ultimately the guy getting ready to pull the trigger. Any one who stretches the distance on varmints has obviously wounded some, I shoot too much to buy the "But I never miss!"story, that's the one guy's might feed their 12 year old nephew at a family reunion after a few glasses of loud mouth, but I ain't buying it! Is it immoral to call the wind wrong hit a rock chuck in the butt and drop him down a hole to die at long range? How bout a pararie dog? How bout a bull elk --a BIG one---? I obviously don't think so with a rock chuck cause I'm able to tell you I have a 13lbs 25.06 and my furthest chuck todate is 659yrds (with a range finder) I can also assure you as God is my witness I wouldn't take the same shot on an elk--not even a BIG one--and I've passed em up. Thank's for every ones opinion, it made me think, as my wife would be glad to tell you I don't do that enough. DMCI--those pictures bring a faraway drifty look to my eyes, I'm jealous.---Shoot Safe---montdoug---PS--To my knowlege (as memory serves)during Vietnam the longest confifmed kill was made by Sgt Carlos Hathcock-- 2500 yrds using a 50 cal with a 20 power Unertil on it, people are a much easier target than a varmint, but I'm sure the equipment's better--hell-of-a-shot!
