Anyone have one? How do you like it? Trying to decide between it and the Savage 112BVSS. Thanks,

Both are quality rifles but I doubt you'll want to carry the bvss very far in the field. I have a 12 bvss and carry it on the days I'm feeling masochistic. It weighs 12lbs with the scope. As a rule the accuracy nod would go to the heavy barreled rifle. The Savage heavy barreled rifles all must shoot under MOA or they don't leave the factory. Here is a link where Ken Russo explains it better than I can. One question, if you're looking for a .223 why choose the long action 112 over the 12? http://www.varminthunters.com/forums/ggvg/posts/209510.html [ 03-24-2003, 00:34: Message edited by: Mike-OR ]

I own both I just resieved a 12bvss-single. I have had the cz 527 varmit for a while it is a very nice gun, set trigger, varmit barrel, H&S black stock it is a lot lighter than the Savage if you want a varmit rifle to carry this is a great choise. Th CZ 527 Varmit with H&S stock has a 1/9 twist. The CZ shoots very nice groups at 100 out to 300. I have shot several one hole groups at 100. The CZ 527 likes 50 vmax very much. The Savage is very accurate it seems to like every bullet I have fed it from 40 to 60 gr.The savage weighs about 11.5 lbs. with scope, has 1/9 twist, nice laminated stock, fluted stainless barrel. Bottom line if I wanted a 223 to carry I would go with the CZ. If I were going to shoot off the bench the Savage would be my choise. They are both very accurate I will give the Savege a slight edge in accuracy, and it likes a range of bullets than the CZ.

RooksD1 is correct. I own two Savage 110Fps in 223 as well as the HS stocked CZ. However, I have two loads that both will shoot at 1/2 MOA even though the Savage does a bit smaller than the CZ. If I could only have one it would be the CZ...love that triger. My walk around gun is a CZ Lux in .223. With 55 grain loads it will keep up with the Varmint for three round groups but not five round groups. That light barrel heats up fast. However, I have some favorite Rock Chuck hunting areas that require more climbing that shooting and that 6 pound Lux is nice to pack.
