Several years ago my coyote calling buddy and I were calling in some sand hills in NW Oklahoma. We were sitting on the side of a sand hill and hit the call one time. A coyote came running over the next hill as hard as he could and stopped about 30 yards in front of us and started digging like crazy. My buddy dumped a round thru him and when we walked up to him, he had dug up a rabbit that he had previouly buried. He must have thought that his rabbit had been reborn, but instead he joined him.

I got one tonight that I first saw at 150-175 yrds out. He came in fast and flying. I tried to shoot 3 different times. The only problem was the safty was on. (Only 2nd time out with this gun) I finaly relized what was going on with the rifle and turned him inside out with a nice spray of blood and guts at 20yrds from me and the cd player. Ray

This isn't a coyote calling story but its a coyote story. Back in Ok (eastern) I made a big hole coyote set with a piece of beaver in the bottem covered by a twist of sage grass. When I checked it the next day, the trap was sprung, and all the dirt was scratched and pushed back into the hole effectively filling it. When I reopened the hole, a coyote had buried a rabbit in it. I remade the set, leaving the rabbit in the hole, and caught a nice dog two days later. Didn't catch anything else at that set all season.
