i was having breakfast this morning when my wife called that there were some crows on the edge of our woods. Now this is a really really uncommon occurrence, since they usually avoid the place like the plague. But, 5 landed and 1 was actually partially visible through the tree limbs. My little browning 22 k hornet that always sits by the door hasn't had much use this winter. I couldn't get a clear shot at anything but his azz, so an azz shot it was. The others flew off but this one could just barely make it a few yards and landed in another tree. By the time i could get to another window, a big red tail hawk swooped down and grabbed it. The other 4 crows came back raising royal hell with the hawk, but they forgot that it is hawk mating season. The mate was circling high above, and during the show, dived down and crow #2 bit the dirt. The remaining 3 kept up the noise, but made sure they were far enough away. | ||
