I don't know if folks have checked this out... I was pretty impressed with the new 12 F and 12 F/TR that I saw in the latest edition of Shooting Times...

However, checking out this page!... Man, I haven't had this kind of reaction, since I was 12 years old and stumbled onto where the old man had hidden the latest edition of Playboy... banana

I have always been a Winchester Model 70 kinda guy..but now Win Model 70s are Kaput.... and Savage is really listening to the consumer and coming out with stuff that is just blowing ya away!!!

Fer instance... the Mark 2, BTVS.. a thumbhole laminate stock in 22 Long Rifle...and scope bases installed.. cool for those "waiting for your barrel to cool" moments...

For Kids, Check out the Cub T...a thumbhole stock, and an accutrigger in a short stock...with a cheap price...

And now the "fold out" dept...Centerfire stuff..

For us varmint shooting guys... the Predator Hunter! Camo'ed up and available in a 223, 22.250 or a 204 ( whatever that caliber is... lol), medium contoured barrel, oversized bolt, weaver bases installed, accu trigger...SWEET! to quote a fellow forum member...

Long Range Precision Varminter!...
Acctrigger adjustable down to 6 oz! right bolt, left port!!! ONE inch diameter barrel!
223, now available with a one in 7 twist besides the one in 9 also!
22.250 available with a one in 9 twist BESIDES the one in 12!
HS Precision Stock ( Yawn)...
ALLOY bedded.. banana

AND the BEST for Last!!!!

Precision Target Actions!
Featuring the new Accutrigger adjustable down to 6 ozs!
Available in Rt Bolt, left port, or RT bolt and right port..
Available in both 223 heads and 308 heads..
Target AccuTrigger Assembly, Barrel Lock nut, Recoil Lug and trigger guard

With a MSRP of $504! then the FEDs want some sort of excise tax... bsflag salute

I have a few rifles that will be finding new homes in the near future...and a few of Savage's products moving in....

This stuff a varmint shooter or gun nut dreams about!... when we ain't dreaming about being younger & surrounded by gorgeous women...

A big thumbs up to Savage!!!
thumb

To paraphrase Cheech and Chong, " I used to be all messed up on Winchester Model 70s, but since I found the new Savage Catalog, now I am all messed up on Savages".... dancing

Do you really not know what The Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act is ?

Other wise known as Pittman-Robertson.

This is one tax you shouldn't complain about and should defend to maintain for it's intended purpose.

Precision Target Actions
Precision Target Actions

It takes a great action to build a great rifle. That's the idea behind the latest introduction from Savage Arms. Legendary for out-of-the-box accuracy, Savage introduces its new line of Precision Target Actions. The same action found in our new Precision Target Rifles, it allows gunsmiths the ability to add the celebrated Savage foundation to their customized firearms.

The actions are available in both standard and .223 bolt heads, and are available in 2 configurations; right bolt - right port or right bolt - left port, and both come in stainless steel.

It also features the NEW Target AccuTrigger, now adjustable from 2 1/2 lbs. to as low as approximately 6 oz., and allows the shooter to easily adjust trigger pull himself, without having to pay a gunsmith to adjust it - a feature exclusive to Savage Arms.

Actions include:

* Bolt assembly,
* Target AccuTrigger group assembly,
* Barrel locknut,
* Recoil lug, and trigger guard
* MSRP $504*

* FET not included

I used to stare at the Tinker Toy catalog when I was small, and lust after the top of the line "Big Boy kit" for $5.

My brain has not changed much in 50 years.
I still want things.
They are just 100 times more expensive.

No, I really don't know much about it at all...

That it was co sponsored by Sen Key Pittman of Nevada and Rep Willis Robertson of VA, and that FDR signed it into law in 1937..

that it was an excise tax on firearms, ammo, and archery stuff, and given to states to operate and develope, buy and manage wildlife management areas...states are allowed to use it in surveys and research if it is necessary to restore wildlife...

that money is also used to develop rifle ranges and do hunter education classes in all states...

even nature lovers get to benefit from it for all the wetland development it does...

Besides that, I really don't know much about it....

No, I really don't know much about it at all...

Intended purpose means nothing John if it isn't really going to that. There are 1000 stories or more I'll give you mine in O Henry style .

There was this little old custom fishing rod maker , Roger. Every quarter he had to send in his excise tax.

If the states were suppose to get the money to protect wild life why is fishing off California, and elsewhere like droping your line into the desert? shocker They takes the money and don't get the job done.Shaherazod will tell you the next 999 stories. CRYBABYroger

That's a pretty impressive lineup of new releases. I'm glad to see there is at least ONE manufacturer who 'gets it.' I was very sorry to see the demise of Winchester (and I still haven't heard a good reason why), but Savage is listening to the customer and paying attention to shooting sports. They've always been good for lefties, and now they've got some sweet new rifles coming out. I can't wait to drool on those in a few weeks at the NRA meeting! beer

Bill,

Sir..

I really re read everything I posted here and can not find out where I put something that one can construe as you stated above..

I didn't state that I was supporting you at all..

For folks like yourself, that have paid into social security all of these years... Hell, not only do you deserve it, in my opinion... you are not getting enough of the investments that you made into social security and the contributions that you put into the economy of this nation during your professional working career...

Heck, I am 55 yrs old now.. I will probably see little of the money that I invested into social security...

The people I complain about, are the lazy asses that never get off their asses to work... only to get down to the welfare office to collect welfare checks....

so to return your quote...

I do get it quite well that I am not supporting folks like yourself...

my generation is cursed with supporting the welfare abusers and the illegal aliens... and we will never get to enjoy the SS benefits that you enjoy and worked for...

and I for one, am happy at least someone like yourself is getting what they worked for... our government is giving what my generation earned to everyone else, and then telling us that they are going broke.. but they still take every penny they can from us...

so I don't know where you read what you think you read into one of my statements.. but I hope this clears my opinion up for you on the subject...

best regards..
seafire
cheers
