You might try... Guns America .com click on Savage rifles and see what the going rate is. Most prices seem a little to me but it would give you a idea. Dan

At a gun show I got a 303 Sav 99 made in 1907 with a box of ancient 303S ammo, both for $78. The stock has been repaired, the original rear sight is gone, and the bore is pitted. But the aciton is excellent. Anyway, this brings up my sliding scale gun value estimator: If a gun costs $100 at AIM: $120 online price at Century [the importer that sells to AIM] $120 carried at a gun show with a price flag in the bore $200 sticker price a pawn shop $150 dicker down price at a pawn shop $150 on a table at a gunshow by an FFL [with paper work] $300 on a table at a gunshow with no paper work [carny people] $200 dicker down price on that same table [carny people] $100 price you can sell to that table [carny people] $75 unmarked price on gunshow table by amateur [gone by 8:05 a.m.] $125 reserve price on line auctions $150~$2,000 ask price on Gunsamerica $90 price you can get walking into a pawn shop $110 price you can get selling on consignment $100 price from your neighbor $100 sell to your neighbor $50 price from girl in tavern parking lot who says she is "getting divorced" [junkie people]

The Savage 99 will gradually go up in price since it is no longer being produced. The .22-250Rem. is noted for its accuracy, but it's doubtful it would be any too accurate in a lever action rifle. My very first rifle was a Savage 99 in .308Win. I got rid of it after a couple of years because it would shoot no better than 1 3/4" 5 shot groups at 100yds. I was young and didn't realize that's fine accuracy from that particular rifle. Sure wish I had it back. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal
