I've spent the last 2 months working up loads for my new 6x284 and haven't had the time to get out and see what this thing will do in the field. Yesterday I managed to spot a coyote and got a shot off. He was a mangey bugger about 250 yds out and the rifle worked great but an 70 gr. ballistic tip running at 3650 fps sure did a job on him. I'm really likeing this rifle and the load I have developed but it is not fur friendly at all. For the past 3 years we have had a lot of mange in the coyotes in this area so tearing them up isn't a big deal.
I'm using 55gr. of H4831SC 70 gr. nos. bal. tips OAL of 2,8" win. LRMag. primers. The twist rate is 1 in 12"
