I saw a You-Tube the other day that showed guys calling in racoons out of trees in the day time!
Any of you ever try such a thing with any success?
Looks like a ball, What calls are they using? I don't remember ever seeing a "racoon call"
Any Knowledge of this?

There are many good "coon squaller" hand calls. If you are using an e-caller try a racoon fight or coon pup distress calls.

A.P. at allpredatorcalls.com has a good assortment: http://www.allpredatorcalls.com/categories/Raccoon/

I would also check out the Borland's DVD on calling coons:

I have had coons, opossums, skunks, deer, ringtails, foxes, coyotes and bobcats and one Mt. Lion come to a standard half grown or Woodpecker call..I guess they all have the same eating habits except the deer and they are just curious.

I recall one day at the ranch with my wife and daughter we were looking for some cows and I parked the jeep and squeeled my rabbit call and I explained to my 5 year old daughter that it was rabbit call and shortly the coyotes would show up..but instead several jack rabbits showed up for some unknown reason to me. I discussed this with my wife and my daughter said "Silly daddy sounds like a wounded carrot"...Still tell that story at family reunions etc.
