I've had a Video Camera mount on one of my .17s for quite a few years now, it works great. simply attach a #61 Weaver Base to the bottom of your camera then install a weaver style ring upside down on your scope tube. Depending on your objective lens dia will dictate ring height. And yes there is some minor distortion picked up during recoil. On my 14-221 there is no distortion what so-ever.

Uncle Bud's, the makers of the shooting bags is working on a prototype mount for this purpose. It will attach to the scope and will have recoil reduction built in and will be durable! I have seen it and tested it and they should hit the market later this year! Check with me for further developments!! GHD

Just my $0.02 here...won't the recoil from the rifles severely shorten the life of a video camera? I highly doubt these cameras were designed to take a sharp jolt like that. Obviously, a lot of this depends on the caliber and weight of your gun.
