Three of us headed back out to west Texas near Iraan this past weekend for some summer fox hunting. The rancher says he has lost more lambs this year to foxes and bobcats than any years past.

We took 5 grey foxes and 1 racoon.

On the way back to the headquarters Sunday morning we were treated to a spectacular west Texas sunrise.

That's awesome.

Just curious, do you try to do anything with the fox pelts when it's still the Hades-Hot time of the year?

I don't imagine the pelts are very good right now?

I know the 'yote pelts are garbage around here, at least in the low elevations, until it starts to get cold out.

Nope, not with their summer coats. This is strictly predator control hunting.

We were using a FOXPRO CS-24 calling with Burnham Brothers Cottontail Duet, Kirk Grey Fox Special, and FOXPRO Super Jack.
