| My battery died too after many many years of use. Johnny Stewart sells them for about $40 and I intend to look for an alternative source.
I am still thinking that it might be better to buy one of the newer Johnny Stewart callers for another $90-$100 and get something a lot lighter in weight. |

| If you do a search for the Panasonic (or whatever other battery) model number that was in your caller, you will find that there are replaceables for as little as $10 plus shipping. These are 6V batteries, and if your 512 was set up like mine, there are two of the batteries stuck together with double-sided tape, and a jumper soldered between the negative post of one battery and the positive of the other. I bought a re-chargeable 12V last weekend at Gander Mountain, and it won't fit inside the case. So I am going to have to buy one of the other ones that is designed to fit the case...
And dmullen is right: if you go with an exact replica, it is going to run you $40 plus shipping. I am going to try to save about half that amount... |

| If I can get one for about half price, I may do it and then sell my caller. One of those newer ones looks like it would be very light. |

| Roger:
You might try Batteries Plus, if they don't stock it they can look it up and will order it for you. I am confident your 512 is 12 volt. and you can find many gel cell nickle metal hydrate batteries. Longshot |
