Try the 257 Kimber loads. It falls behind the 250-3000.

Thanks George, but is the Copperhead on the 222 MAGNUM case? or the 222 Rem. case.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

The Copperhead is on the 222 Rem case at 1.695" while the 222 Magnum is 1.850". When comparing 222 to the 222Mag using same powders there will be about a 200fps gain in velocity acheivable at safe pressure in the Magnum case. GHD Groundhog Devastation(GHD)

Ray- Given a 22-24" barrel, it ranges into the basic ballpark of the Savage, especially with lighter bullets. I have data some place. Give me a day or 2 and maybe I can locate it. From memory, 75s approach 3000 fps, 85-87s will reach around 2800 while 100s will be around 2500 to 2550 fps. It is right on the heels of the excellent .257 JDJ (.25x.225 AI). Considering the bore is the same can't you come up with some starting loads by the ratio of the capacity of the 223 case to the 222 Mag. Or haw comparable is the case capacity between the 257 JDJ to the 25 222Mag. Or even a ratio up from the 257 TCU Don't limit your challenges . . . Challenge your limits
