Can anyone recommend a bullet for my "new" 7mm Remington Mag Sendero. I want to use it for long range groundhog hunting, ie., 500+ yards. Some of you western hunters use this round on coyotes. What do you recommend? Need to avoid richocet as much as possible. Thanks!

Maybe at 500 yards plus a long sleek bullet might better but I am loading the 120 gr Hornady V Max also in my 7 MM WSM. It's quite accurate and the last three shot group was less than 1/2" at 100 yds. The Ci of that bullet is .375 should you want to run it on PointBlank. There is a Nosler 120 gr Ballistic Tip at .417 also. I will try those this week. To the best of my knowledge Sierra does not have a light bullet with a really top Ci.
Some of the long range hunters here however may shoot a gameking that might hold up well at very long range.
The Winchester Combined Technology with Nosler 140 grain Ballistic tips have worked well for me. I use a Remington 700 in 7mm mag. I can't reload better than this factory load. I get a 1" grop @ 200yds.
I like the 120 nosler bt with rl-19 to about 300 yards. After that I go to Hornady 162 grn A-max pushed by h870. I shoot a savage and both loads shot that same to 300yards, the A-max bucks the wind better and groups better for me. The 120's are explosive so my spotter says. I wish you luck as I seem to develpoe signs of pressure as I approch the published max load in most books. Velocity suffers a bit, but the accuracy is good.

When you are talking long-range and varmints with the 7MM Remington Mag there are only a few bullets that will really get the job done right. Hornady makes a 162-grain A-Max bullet that works like a varmint bullet. I have shot ths bullet through my Remington 40X out to 1200-yards. It will expand on ground hogs. At ranges under 600-yards they don't expand, they explode! The load that I used was 60-grains of IMR4350 and a Federal 215M primer. It is very accurate and wrecks anything it hits. When it comes to long-range accuracy you need a high B.C. and this bullet will give you that over the V-Max. While the V-Max starts out much faster than the A-Max it looses its HP and gets kicked around by the wind bad at 500-yards. The 162-grain A-Max will still be going strong well beyond 1000-yards. Give it a try. I know that you will like it once you learn the drop tables.
i got good results with imr 4350 and 4831 but the best was RL19 buy far. all the loads i shot with RL19 were under .6 and most under .5 but i used 4831 because i was too cheap to buy some more RL 19.
