I shoot V-Max's in all my varmint rigs for maximum splatter. I've found nothing that compares.

Favourite so far has been 85 gr B-Tips in a 25/06.

Long range preference for bigger varmints in the same calibre is the Sierra 117 gr SBT.

Now experimenting with the Sierra 100 HPBT MatchKing. (It IS a varmint hunting bullet, isn't it?!)

My favorite is the Sierra 50 gr Blitzking out of my Fireball. It knocks out chucks better than the V max IMO.

Since most of my varmint hunting is for predators, I use the Sierra #1365 55gr. soft point. It gives excellent accurancy and minimum fur damage.

I really like the Sierra 6.5 100gr. Varmint Hollowpoint. This is a little bigger than most, however its wind bucking capabilities can't be denied in my opinion.

I Only have one scope on a 30-06,so I use it for groundhogs, deer and as of 8-9-02 one coyote. The bullet is a 125HP TNT from Speer.Longest shot at hogs was 300yds and it almost cut the head off the little Varmint.

My all time favorite Varminting bullet is the Sierra 50 grain Blitz bullet (Sierra #1340)! This often overlooked bullet is very affordable, very accurate and very devastating to Varmints. I also recommend the 55 grain Sierra Blitz. I have about a four year supply of the 50 grain Blitz bullets on hand and use it in many of my 22 caliber Varmint Rifles. If you haven't tried them in your Varminter then you should give them a go next time your doing load development. I am sure you will be pleased ith them.
