There are LOTS of Coyote's in Central Park and many more in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

If I had to guess I would say that they follow the Metro North train tracks from Westchester County, or even just by the streets at night.

Just last week I saw a dead Turkey on Central Park West just in front of the Museum of Natural History.
