Found a Coyote Den

I was spot stalking the other day and I found a fairly large hole about 3/4 the way up a creek bank. This hole is very near where the creek flows into the Brazos river. The trail of tracks in and out is well worn and one trail is a direct path to where I dump my deer guts/carcases etc when I'm done cleaning deer.

These Coyotes would be fairly used to human scent/noise etc and I haven't disturbed the den or told anyone where it is. I'm looking ideas on the best way to clean it out on the Wholesale level. I could use poison but that takes the fun right out of it. I'd have to be careful dropping smoke or flame into the den to run them out because we are under a severe burn ban.

Calling and trapping are options but I was wondering if there were any other more creative ideas out there.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Hand grenades?

I think two shooters with ARs and cool heads would be able to set a proper ambush and catch the coyotes returning to their den after feasting on deer viscera.

I actually can get access to tear gas grenades but they burn white hot and cold present a fire hazard.

Drop one or two live wolves down the hole.

One or two passes with a D8 bulldozer.

Get a set of welders gloves and a pair of brass balls, then crawl in and pull them out.

Actually, a dry fire extinguisher might flush them out, and not likely to ignite brush.

can you get a vehicle or 4 wheeler to it?
grandad used to gas them with a chunk of garden hose/from the exhaust pipe.
or a 330 or 440 sized conniber trap in the den mouth.

Barbed wire. This is a two man job. Take a long piece of barbed wire and double it back twice so that you have 4 strands of wire maybe about 8 ft long. stick the wire down the hole and start twisting, the wire will wrap up in their fur, I'm sure you will know when you got one. pull him out while the other guy puts a 12ga. load in him. I tried this once with no luck(no critters in the den) but my uncle swears this works. Sure sounds like fun. Kind of a land lovers version of big game fishing.
