| If you are going to shoot the 50 V-max I would go with the 9 twist, and if you never plan to shoot anything "bigger" than a 55-60gr I would order a 12 twist. www.duanesguns.com |

| My experiences have been that, as long as you stay away from fragile bullets like the SPSXs from Hornady... most other bullets will work in the faster twists in a 223...
The one in 8 will allow you to shoot 75 and 80 grainers should the desire arise, while still shooting 50 grain V Maxes just fine...or even the 40 grain V Max...
I'd prefer the one in 8 myself, but you won't be handicapped with the one in 9 at all...
and if you are just looking to shoot a 50 grain V Max.. any twist will work that is commonly accepted for the 223....eg, don't do a one in 16 twist like a 22 Hornet! |

| i have a 1 in 9 factory barrel on my savage and it shoots the 50 ballistic tip well. i been trying the v max and it has been showing promise, i just need to fine tune it. accurate arms powder 2230 and 2015 have been grouping well for me. enjoy |

| I agree with seafire. I've shot some very good groups with 30GR. Bergers, 32gr.VMax,40gr. VMax.
Mostly 1-9 Savages also 1-7.7 WOA Service match barrel. Those funny looking little 32 gr. VMax can be scary accurate. |
