What I am trying to figure out is this gun has a 20" barrel and a twist rate of 1:12. I want to shoot 40 to 55 grain bullets out of it and it seems that the twist rate is a little slow.

Anyone use one of these for pdogs. Was looking to get another T3 varmit in 223 but can't find one but the local store has a tactical on the shelf but haven't shot one before.

Any comments out there?

My wife has a Ruger 77-MK-II Stainless in 223.
I have a Ruger 77- MK-II Ultra Lite in 223.
We both shoot 55 grain bullets in our respective rifles.
She shoots 26 to 27 grains of Winchester 748.
I drop my load to 21.5 grains of Winchester 748.
