I realize that most of you guys have rifles that absolutely outclass this one but I was wondering if any have experience with it? I was thinkin about getting one in 243 Win and having it rechambered for 243WSM (if that is possible, haven't checked it out yet).

Try this site out. http://www.hr1871.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi

Good info over there, and surprisingly these can be pretty accurate little guns for the money. Someone should be able to answer your questions over there. I wouldnt be too surprized if NEF came out with a 243WSM or some other short mag. soon anyway.

I have 2 handi rifles-.223, .243w/ bull barrel. Got a 3rd one on the way- .223 stainless steel [Smile]

Also there is a NEF/H&R Forum at marlin talk. Since Marlin owns them now. Here is the URL. Good luck.

the other answer would be, no, you could not rechamber it to 243wsm. there is not way to set the barrel back like you could with a bolt rifle, and the wsm is shorter.

243WSM or 243WSSM? 243WSM would likely be a wildcat.

I think I confused myself (this is amazingly easy to do unfortunately)... Winchester lists 243 WSSM and then 270 WSM as factory loads... What's up with that? I apparently need to do more research. I thought WSM and WSSM were the same line of cartridges. [Confused]
