Other than the implied insult the J-lock poses, it really isn't that annoying to me...I never lock it, and don't really notice a difference. The only thing I'd be upset about is having it locked without the green key anywhere in sight...

Want to get rid of it? Brownells has a couple of Remington bolt shrouds that will fit in place of the J-Lock shroud. About $50.00. Just got my first J-Lock bolt, on a 6mm VLS. I haven't decided whether to ignore it or replace it.
