Stunning artwork! And to think somewhere tucked into these is a bit of all of our heritages... think about it!

beautiful; an interesting exercise is to watch the film "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" and have a book of Charles Russel paintings handy. Many of the scenes in the film are lifted directly from the artwork.

Makes me realize, again, that I was born 100 years or so too late.

Can anyone tell me the name of the first song in the musical track?

If one likes western art, they should buy a used copy of Teddy Roosevelt's book "Ranch Life & Hunting Trails". They are available in hardbound all over the place on-line for $8 or a little more. (I just bought another copy for that price two weeks ago.)

The book was published in 1888, was reprinted twice, and the great western artist Frederick Remington penned ALL the illustrative sketches; there is a sketch just about every other page throughout the whole book. (Remington spent a lot of time on Roosevelt's ranch and did most of the sketches in situ.)

No "paintings", but the sketches are worth their weight in gold to folks like me. (And to my BIL who is a big time western art collector in western Canada).

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.
