Be offline for a little while. My cardiologist's office called me today.

Evidently I still have two blockages in my heart that need to be taken care of. So I guess Thursday morning, I'm going in to St. Thomas in Nashville for more surgery. I'm hoping that it'll just be more stents, but I'll find out for sure Wednesday morning. Sigh.... faint

Well, that didn't take long at all. My wife and I went to Nashville yesterday afternoon, checked into a hotel and then had dinner with some friends. Then with a big day ahead of me, we called it an early evening.

Check-in at St. Thomas went smoothly and it wasn't long before I had a bed assigned to me, where I sat for the next four hours! It turned out that my doctor was in the middle of one operation, when an emergency came in and he had to finish up with his patient and go assist another doctor keep another person alive! So I waited until almost 1:00 before they wheeled me into the cath lab.

Once there, things went rapidly and successfully! After my last heart attack in November, the doctor had seen two blockages on the films. When he ran a scope into my heart and checked the areas, there was no blockages to be found! I did a quick survey of my heart but the blocked areas were clear.

So they pulled the catheter, plugged the hole and sent me off to the recovery room. By 5:00 I had been discharged and was on my way home with my wife driving.

AND, the doctor said there was NO reason why I couldn't go out turkey hunting when the season opens at the end of the month! ;D I just have to take it easy so I don't tear open the hole in my femoral artery....

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes. It evidently worked!

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes and prayers. It did help keep my spirits up.

And while I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, I almost wish there would have been blockages to repair. That would explain why I constantly feel like crap, have ZERO energy and almost no ambition! At least there would have been an explanation. Now it's back to searching for a reason....

I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and do have a cpap machine. I tried to use it but just cannot! You'd think that someone who wore air packs and SCBA masks for over 20 years would be able to sleep with a stupid cpap mask on, but I just can't.

I have such disturbing dreams about choking that I wake up screaming and in a cold sweat. After a week of that and not getting any better, I decided that I'd rather snore. My wife appreciated that too as it scared the shit right out of her when I'd sit up in bed swinging and hollering!

But this feels different than the sleep apnea tired. This is a bone deep, dead tired, that just doesn't get any better even when I take a nap during the day.... Believe me, I've tried everything, and this is about the 6th cardiologist I've seen, along with a whole host of other specialists....

It's probably something that I'm just going to have to live with, but....
