I post this for interests sake, I have nothing to do with Spec's except as a customer and live too far from them to be that as often as I'd like. This is from their current flyer sent to me by email.....

SINGLE MALT SCOTCH
TASTING AT SPEC'S
SMITH STREET SUPERSTORE
Monday, March 29 from 6 to 8pm
FREE to the first 90 customers to
call Jessica Toner at (832) 660.0250

We will be sampling the following Scotches:
Scottish Leader
Black Bottle Original
Deanston 12yr Unchillfiltered
Deanston Ltd 30yr Unchillfiltered
Bunnahabhain 12yr Islay Malt
Bunnahabhain 18yr Islay Malt
Bunnahabhain 25yr Islay Malt
Tobermory 15yr
Ledaig 10yr
Hosting the samplings will be Burn Stewart's Master Distiller, Ian
MacMillan Ian McMillan is almost unique in the trade, in that he
inspects the growth and development of barley and then specifies and
purchases all Burn Stewart's malted barley requirements, from lightly
peated for the Deanston and Tobermory malts to the heavily peated
style for Ledaig malt. He places emphasis on encouraging the
development and use of only Scots grown barley. Ian MacMillan has
been 30 years in distilling, nearly 12 years of which have been with Burn
Stewart Distillers.

you, my dear sir, are a cad, a lout, and one who should be thrashed. How dare you post that knowing most of us will be left with our tongues hanging, our palette dry, and our dreams unfullfilled.
May the pox of Cutty Sark or Phillp's scotch fill your cabinet!

What, planes don't go from Michigan to Texas......oh wait, I see you're from the UP......do you have airports there? Wink

Spec's Downtown Warehouse is a regional treasure with what I believe is the largest and cheapest wine selection in the Southern US. It probably a good thing I don't live closer.......

Smith street Spec's is the treasure chest of all things wonderous! Great deli as well as unique items! Need truffle butter, Spec's has it. Need a good wine from just about anywhere? Spec's has it. Whisky from Scotland?
It's just like Christmas!
