I always try to pick up a local rum when I travel to the tropics. I would like to know if you have a favorite rum? I like the Cruzan rum from St.Croix, especially the Coconut flavored.
Thanks

Next fall head down to Nicaragua for a week of duck hunting and try the nation Rum of Nicaragua. I comes in 6 and 12 year old, both are great with the 12 leading, especially when you pour it on good ice cream or drink it straight.
If you go tell Richard howdy from Jim and Tom.

How about some load data for that rum and ice cream. Chocolate? Vanilla? I've never had rum with something that wasn't good but that's a first. Try it on warm bread pudding sometime. The only rum I haven't enjoyed was from Seagrams, inexpensive open bar at a wedding. Also Tequila Beamero (from Jim Beam) is a pass, it was Jim Beam I had to try it.

Lately it's been Sailor Jerry's Spiced.

I've used French Vanilla with good results, my Morman friends think it's great.

I assume you are talking about Flor D' Cana? If so, I agree.

You are correct.
The group of us go thru a bottle per night and take four bottles home, each.
I wish this rum was imported here, I'm out and will have to wait until next November for replinishment.

Jim,
I don't know about Virginia, but you can buy it at most chain liquor stores here in Texas.

I don't visit the ABC store often, your mention that Nicaraguian rum was available in Texas got me curious.
I wondered in and sure enough they had it, Flor D' Cana.
It's the younger variant. Now I need to go shopping for some French Vanilla ice cream.
Thanks for the heads up.

Jim

The best bottle of rum is the one you don't even open. Ug I hate all of that stuff if I had to drink it though it would be Appletons and mostly because it doesn't taste like rum.
