I just watched an action-comedy motion picture, "My Fellow Americans" starring Jack Lemmon and James Garner. It is almost a good movie. Screenplay author and/or director must have been compelled to insert sixth-grade boys' locker room gross-out humor. Near the beginning of the movie, Former president James Garner inserted thought-provoking black humor when he complained that no former president had ever been assassinated, nor had an assassination ever been attempted. Humorous within context of the scene - and then I put the DVD on PAUSE. Had there ever been an assassination attempt on any former president [of USA]? I know none was murdered, but had anyone tried and failed? Not only did I not know the answer, I froze again. The current president is, perhaps, among the most hated and feared American National politicians in [at least] 150 years. Concatenate being hated and feared with a Secret Service (they provide security for former presidents) that has demonstrated egregious incompetence by not forestalling several deep penetrations into the White House. The result is more of a question than an answer: What would be Las Vegas bookmakers' betting odds that when the current president becomes a former president, he becomes the first actual target? All this because of a throwaway sentence in a motion picture comedy. It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

I will have to get the movie,,both great actors! I've been giving a lot of thought lately to exactly the same train of thought,,how can he carry on with like he is without millions of people wishing nothing but the worse for he and his moo. I tend to use more than enough gun
