Don't know that it is dead just yet, but someone might want to call a priest to do the Last Rites.

That's what happens when the kabosh gets slapped on all threads with pics of women(which was termed porn but was anything but). It was just a bunch of hunters hanging out in a place they like, checking out some fine-looking, partially clad women . Same shit most of us talk about when we're hunting.

How that was considered porn I'll never know. Roll Eyes

Norton, I guess we have been in far different hunting camps.

Maybe it has to do with age or social status or something, but in the vast majority of hunting camps I have been in, rarely has the talk of females on any level, been broached.

Oh, I'd guess more than a few hunting camps chat about the fairer sex. I never said it was the main topic of conversation.

Just out of curiosity, exactly what "social status" would you guess predisposes men to talk about women? I'm a 46 year old surgeon for some perspective.

Isn't it interesting how preoccupied one can be with avoiding sexual topics. In many minds it something sinful and to be avoided but yet:

1. God is said to have created male and female.

2. The too many leaders of one organization that seems to have many rules about sex have been have been involved in homosexuality and child exploitation.

3. Another organization with strict prohibitions about exposing any part of the female form believes that more than one wife is OK and in fact the reward of the faithful will be a bunch of virgins.

Norton since I have shared hunting camps made up of several different social levels, and age levels, all I stated was that discussions about females are relatively non-existant.

I do not know whether it has to do with camps made up of predominantly older guys, many or most of them long term married.

Or a mix of older and younger guys who are more into the hunting experience and sharing observations on the sport.

Or camps with men and women present..

I just know what I know from personal experience, maybe it is one of those Texas/Redneck things, that not all guys when they are together just want to set around and discuss women and sex and look at pictures of good looking women in various degrees of undress.

I ain't saying that there is anything wrong with it, other than not everyone enjoys it to the same level.

I love the female form and its function, just not 24/7/365.

Some folks seem to be totally obcessed with it, and I am not sure if they are that obcessed when in hunting camp or just when posting stuff on this forum.

I have shared camps, both as a hunter and as a guide with doctors/lawyers/fire/police/e.m.t's/chemists/truck drivers/the No.2 or 3 guy at Exxon-Mobil in 2000/business owners and the list goes on.

From time to time short discussions about females took place, but many of those concerned ex-wives, and they were not of the passionate/sexy side of things if you get my drift.

In this section, some folks seem predestined to want to do nothing but post pictures of females, that while interesting and great looking for the most part, to me, realy add nothing to the concept of the site. JMO.

CHC.....I can't recall ever looking at nudie pics in a hunting camp......just some good-natured banter about whatever female came to mind.

As far as the site goes, seems to me it'd be easy enough just not to open those threads. There's plenty of garbage in the political forum that "add nothing to the concept of the site".

No offense meant or taken.....and I'm sure you and I would get along just fine in camp.

I am sure we would get along just fine.

My problem is that it isn't just good natured banter.

True, I have never had anyone break out Playboys or Penthouses or any of the other Girlie Mags. in any camp I was in.

I have been a couple of camps where someone, and you could recognise them the minute they came into camp, was acting like they were the World's answer to what all Women needed.

Surprisingly to me, the ones I have met, fit in to no particular socio-econimic group, they come from all different back grounds.

Also, usually after the second day, they are kind of isolated from the group when in camp, because all they want to talk about is screwing something.

Take them into town, and they are like a pointer turned out for quail the first day of season, running around and sniffing at every piece of tail they see with in 3 blocks, it is embarrassing.

You are right about one thing, people that spend any time in this topic area should be able to tell when a thread is going to be centered around such a topic, and simply not go in there.

However as others have said, there are plenty of sites on the web that cater to such topics, and on every forum I have been on, this is one subject that has always ended up having to be censored or done away with, simply because people continue to try and outdo each other with the pictures they post.

They keep going till they reach a point where they offend the wrong person/group and shit hits the fan.

To me there is a difference between tasteful and slightly erotic and out and out pornagraphy.

Since me nor you run the place, we don't know just exactly where that line is for the PTB's.

You know where it is for you and I know where it is for me, some folks however just can't seem to find that line and not cross it.

When that happens the PTB's are gonna step in and say enough.

I can tell you this with certainty, and no one can prove me wrong, this site is the best one on the net, and the mods for this site sure as hell let folks get away with stuff, that NO other site I have been on would tolerate for a minute.

Can't argue with anything you said there, CHC. And thankfully, I've never been in camp with anyone like you described above. I guess you being an outfitter puts you in contact with all types......my camps are filled with my buds.

It isn't just the camps that I have run.

I have hunted in plenty of camps as a client, some great, some not so great.

Because of my champagne appetite and beer budget, and the folks I normally associate with, many times I am in a camp as a single hunter, no buddies in camp.

I enjoy the camp life and can pretty well fit in any place, but when in a camp full of strangers, it is a lot easier to set back and blend in and become an observer of human interactions.

It can be easy, when booking say an elk hunt, to end up among a group of 6 or 8 folks that you have absolutely nothing in common with, except being in an elk camp together.

It does not bother me, but I know folks that have never went on a guided hunt of any kind, simply because they did not want to go by themselves, I don't really like to, but I like to hunt too much not too.

You and I have had very similar experiences in this department. I've never run a camp, but I've handled many a customer on a company deer lease for a lot of years. A lot of my friends either don't have the time or can't spend the money for a guided hunt, so I've been a few places by myself. But I've made some good friends on the hunt and I've also marveled at the loud mouth, the party animal, the competitor, and the hardcore alcoholic. I might be imagining things, but it's been my experience that the guy that shows everyone a little common courtesy and quietly just does what the guide says, usually has a pretty good time and more times than not, kills the best animal of the hunt.

That has been my experience also.

Norton, if you can make it down, I will work out a reasonable deal with you on a javelina hunt.

I think you would enjoy it, Fajita's the first night and mesquite grilled steaks the second night.

In 50 years of hunting I've only twice been in camp with a boor who boasted of his sexual conquests. One even named names. Neither received a second invitation. This does not preclude good natured discussions of women in general, but misogynists generally are shunned be gentlemen. (Gentlemen from any social class.)
