That he'd rather be lucky than good, any day!
AT 2:30 AM Friday on my way to work my life was saved by a big heavy Suburban, a seat belt, an airbag and two concrete retaining walls lining an elevated ramp. It was a wild ride for what seemed way too long! A fella going too fast on a curve drifted into my lane clipped the back of the Suburban and I asked myself, "Why am I going sideways?" If the concrete retaining wall weren't there I'd have to paint an "N" number on the back of the truck, cause I would have flown off the ramp!

Close call, glad you came out in nearly as good a shape as you went it.

Maybe I'm getting older, but I've had a couple of really close ones lately that missed. Been years since I was as close to being mashed as I was the other day when I topped a hill going about 70 on interstate S of Dallas and traffic was flat stopped right in front of me. I locked it up, and having been there before, looked in rearview mirror, gigantic truck was in same situation as me, but wasn't going to be able to stop......I'm watching him, looking forward, getting off brakes a bit to give him all the room I can, and debating whether to head for the ramp on the side of me, when he does the same thing, and misses me by inches going about 40.......then I had to jam them back up to not hit car in front of me. Amazing how fast you can process information when you have to.

One reason I like living out in the country side, when I go to our little burg I marvel at our growth spurt, we're up to TWO red lights now Wink ............traffic in Dallas, much less the hell hole of Houston is a real culture shock.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

The guy that clipped me and the 3 passengers in his car, spun past me another 40 yards down the ramp before they stopped. No major injures!

Damn Rusty, glad you are okay and did not pull an inadvertant Evil Knievel off the ramp. Glad you are okay.

Is it just me? Or does it seem like the drivers who CAUSE the accidents never seem to spill their coffee or lose their cell-phone connection?
