Wondering what kinds of opinions NK's recent antics have stirred. I know this has been going on since the 60's and recently jumped back up in 2010. But recently things seem a little more intense with them. "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski

The Chinese are said to be losing patience with them. Anyway, there's one thing I know. I wouldn't give them anything to reward bad behavior or give in to extortion. I'd say in effect, go ahead and build nukes and stack them all the way to the moon, but you're getting nothing from us. Others do what they want about it.

I've heard rumors that the Pillsbury Dough Boy has died. I think the Norks kidnapped him and made him Beloved Leader. If the Dough boy can convince millions of people that Pillsbury Biscuits and cinnamon rolls are actually food, he can convince the rest of the Norks that they are actually living in paradise. I'm not sure what audience he's playing to; maybe he's threatening his generals with a war they can't win and maybe won't survive, to get them in line. TomP Our country, right or wrong. When right, to be kept right, when wrong to be put right. Carl Schurz (1829 - 1906)

I question where and why do all the senior officers surrounding the "boy" have a chest full of medals, ribbons, etc.?? Can't really tell from videos shown, but some would appear to be what I would designate decorations earned in various actions where the officers were involved. Do they earn such decorations for combat with their own people or is it just that "decorations??" Perhaps given to those who display the most devotion to the "dear leader??" Many dismiss the fellow as a fool or "village idiot," but unfortunately mankind has suffered the actions of such idiots at a very high price in innocent lives. Past three Presidents have made fruitless efforts to prevent the NK's obtaining atomic weapons and now we have to deal with it one way or the other. One could say without hesitation that diplomacy did and does not work in these cases.

Keep in mind that the current crop of old Generals remember fighting the United States in a genuine shooting war. Memories can be selective things. They remember that they DIDN'T LOSE. They remember the United States suffered 100,000 casualties to achieve ( read: settle for) a DRAW. China and Russia are the key to how this current chain of events will play out.

One thing the American News channels have not mentioned or covered, at least I have not heard anything about it is that there are a lot of South Koreans, especial younger ones, that WANT Unification with the North. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I am reminded of Mr. Blonde's question: "Are you gonna bark all day, little doggy, or are you gonna bite?" Maybe someone needs to ask this punk that question. Point blank. I would do it, but I'm not a very able diplomat, myself. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I think a lot of Koreans want unification someday, but on democratic terms, not under the fat Commie thumb of the ridiculous Kim family. I bet it will happen. I know that as a kid I never dreamed Germany would be happily reunified one day and that most of the wounds of the Communist era would heal. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

I don't think most of us here in our nice warm houses, comfortable arm chairs and semi pot bellys have any idea at all, of the common mentality of the everyday person in North Korea. Indoctrinated since birth; kept half starved, and always at a state of readiness for the divine leader AND told that all of their problems stem from South Korea and the U.S. that's holding their leash. I think they're more of a problem than we let on. And they're way OVER there. How do we know that somebody over here isn't yanking their chain and we don't know it? (Not that they need any provocation) I think there is so so so much more going on than our dear spin masters (in the press and in Washington) would ever tell us the truth about. Maybe Washington needs another new conflict to distract the masses? I meant Pyongyang. Just my rant.

One of the main goals of any peacetime military is to study the competition, learn it's strengths and weaknesses, and use this information to try to stay one step ahead. I look at the present situation this way: let's say you have a bee's nest in your backyard. If you know where the hole is the bees come out of, you can sneak up and jam a stick in it, making it much easier to deal with the bee's nest on your own terms. To find the hole, you toss a rock at the nest and watch from a safe distance. I see us as the bee's nest, N. Korea as the rock, and possibly China or Iran (someone with a good working relationship with NK) as the folks doing the throwing. There's a lot of good intel to be had, once the competition starts moving assets around, things like codes, protocals, how many times does a B-2 need refuelled between the U.S. and S. Korea and where do the tankers come from..... Once somebody rattles a sabre, we tend to rush to demonstrate what we can and can't do, making a bountiful harvest for the intel people. Nobody can be so stupid as to threaten to nuke another country with nothing to gain from it. Porosonik. Vetting voters= racist. Vetting gun buyers= not racist. Got it?

I don't think the Germans are as happily reunited as most think. Every time a German opinion poll comes out, the results are split between old East and old West Germany. The easterners are still heavily leftist in comparison. Mixing the two vastly different Korean cultures that have evolved since WWII would be a challenge of the first order. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.
