For a relatively commonly available coffee, I like Community Dark Roast, which travels pretty well in the 12oz. vacuum packs they come in.

We grind our beans at home, tend to prefer dark (French or Italian) roast that is made quite strong in a filter drip pot, but change blends and roasts fairly often to keep our taste buds alert. I've read numerous tests of coffee tastings, supposedly by experts, and, almost without exception, the best coffee is from a good quality paper filter drip pot, which is usually not all that expensive. Expresso is an obvious exception. I usually use our well water, which is not all that great for drinking but makes a surprisingly good tasting pot of coffee.

I'm blessed, or cursed, depending on circumstances with a very good nose, which means I can often taste some nuances that some can't. I don't care what kind of coffee it is, it deteriorates rapidly after brewing, an hour is a long time and two hours means it needs to receive a proper burial. Without doubt, fresh roasted beans, freshly ground make the best cup, but I don't find that grinding a week or twos worth of beans at a time, stored in an airtight container between use, causes a really obvious degradation in quality. I'm not so into process that I want to spend the extra time and effort to grind one pots worth of beans every morning.

As a very general rule, they tend to make pretty good coffee in Mexico, the Central and South American countries and Europe. They tend to make horrible coffee in England and Africa, although my last trip on the Eastern Cape was a welcome exception to that observation.

Gatogordo.....amigo....I could not resist...forgive me if you can sofa

For a relatively commonly available coffee, I like Nescafe instant, which travels damn well even after the jar has been opened.

We open the jar, use two teaspoons to the cup to keep our most sensitive taste buds alert. I've never read a test of coffee tastings, but the folks at Nescafe tell it is great stuff. Hell, Bubba, if'n y'all wants Expresso, throw in about 5 teaspoons.

I usually use my rain drippings that I gather in a barrel. Which is not all that great for drinking but once in awhile we get a tadpole or two in there. Protein.

I'm blessed, or cursed, depending on circumstances with a very large nose, which means I can often smell some nuances that some can't. I don't care what kind of coffee it is, it deteriorates rapidly after brewing, but hell, just start over again. It needs to receive a proper burial and dumping it down the drain cleans the pipes. With some doubt, a fresh opened jar makes the best cup, but I don't find that opening a new jar every day or so is worth the effort. Be darned if I want to spend the extra time and effort to open a new jar every day.

And for hunters and back packers, an amigo of mine takes one cup makings, puts it in a condom, ties a knot in it, and fresh as day one. Snip it off over the cup in the bush. He tells me to be careful and not use one of those flavored condoms....

The Mexicans love Nescafe. Packs real easy in their backpacks when they cross the border.

Here's to y'all coffee

Brazil has nice coffes, in Argentina we have "Bonafide Expreso" coffe in grains, the best thing, but do not use condoms like Bill´s friend do or He suggest.
Bill and His friend are "mindfreak", they use condom for everything(to make waterproof their GPS, Knives, protec gun barrel from dust, Cel. Phones etc...) But they never use it for what those things are made for. G.
