JudgeGJeremiah Johnson: Y'ever get lonesome?
Bear Claw Chris Lapp: Fer what?
Jeremiah Johnson: Woman?
Bear Claw Chris Lapp: Full time night woman? I never could find no tracks on a woman's heart. I packed me a squaw for ten year, Pilgrim. Cheyenne, she were, and the meanest bitch that ever balled for beads. I lodge-poled her at Deadwood Creek, and traded her for a Hawken gun. But don't get me wrong; I loves the womens, I surely do. But I swear, a woman's breast is the hardest rock that the Almighty ever made on this earth, and I can find no sign on it.
JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Here are only two of countless good lines from my all-time favorite movie/Clancy book, The Hunt For Red October.
Rear Admiral Joshua Painter: "This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it."
Captain Marko Ramius: "Flood tubes three and four, and plot a solution."

jo-timerIn the movie (Shooter), which is my new all
time favorite with Mark Walberg ( the ex marine
sniper) .When Nick Memphis begs Mark
(Bob Lee Swaggart) to turn himself if after using Nick for bait....Bob Lee says
"You don't understand they killed my dog"
Anybody seen that one?...Wow what a great
movie!
Sorry fellas, I can't see the ones from U-tube
I got very slow dial up, and it takes 20 to 30
mins to load 1 video....

Pretty fair movie but the book was MUCH better.
Blazing Saddles!
When Ol' Slim Pickens and the gang are heading to rock ridge to pull a Number 7 on the towns folk and they come up to the William J. LePtomaine toll gate in the middle of the desert and Slim, instead of riding around. Says" Somebody's gonna hafta go back and get a Shitload o' dimes".

homebrewerJust about anything from Casablanca. Bogey's classic soliloquy about the problems of two little people not amounting to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Claude Reins telling Rick he's shocked-- shocked, I say-- to discover gambling going on at Ricks, only to have Peter Lorre walk up with the Prefect of Police's winnings right then. And the best is at the end, when Rick tells Ilsa she must get on that plane. Major Strasser gets a slug. Round up the usual suspects. That whole scene is the bestest of the bestest in all of filmdom...

""What I said was, never had much use for one. Never said I did'nt know how to use one.""
Whoever said "chiiiill winston." Is spot on.
This scene, also from "Lock Stock..." has some great one liners.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPg_fj_SK_EBond flicks are famous for them:
I like Connery: "That's a nice little nothing you're almost wearing."
"Oh" is my favorite, shortest one liner: Click below to see it in context... I think you'll enjoy it: Like Chiiiil Winston, it's pot induced.

If you liked the movie shooter you should check out some of Steven Hunter's books. The movie shooter was taken from the book Point of Impact, the first in a loose trilogy. Read it first. Then read "Black Light", and third read "A time to Hunt". The movie can't even begin to capture the essence of the books and the theme " It's not about you". Which you will not understand until you've read a Time to Hunt. Point of impact takes place in Vietnam not ethiopia.
Nick Memphis in the book is nothing like the character in the movie. He was an FBI sniper that was placed in an impossible situation by Howard "Howdy" Doody, and ended up shooting and paralyzing the woman he loved and then married. Dirty White Boys is good too and it wouldn't hurt to read it before you read " A time to Hunt".
Hunters later books aren't as good, but A Pale Horse Coming is pretty good if you know anything about gunmen/gunwriters of yesteryear.
Hot Springs and Havana aren't too bad either. The 47th Samurai and Night of Thunder are a bridge to far.
