JTEX, two other great resources: http://www.shopspg.net/Shootin...ingbuffalorifles.htm http://www.shopspg.net/SPG-Lub...-books-spglubeBP.htm FFg is a fine choice. Just remember you never want any air space in a cartridge loaded with BP. You generally want some compression. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

I shot it with the 405 hollow base softies and 27 grains of 5744 Saturday......seems to shoot about a foot high at 100yds with everything at the lowest setting. I think I need to fabricate a higher front blade.

JTex, I believe the battle sight was set for 200 yards, but could be wrong. Do you have the Buffington rear sight on this gun? Is it a Model 1884 or later? There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
