| Did anyone with a 1/26 twist ever try a sabot with a 45 bullet to see if it would stabilize better Instead of a 700 + grain bullet ?
Don't take the chip !

| My Brother's Shiloh 50-90 has the 1:26" twist. It will shoot sub-moa with the 650gr RN Brooks mold and a lot of FFg. |

| I ordered and received a Shiloh sharps in 50-70. Told them I wanted to shoot 425-450 grain bullets. They recommended a 1/36 twist. I have shot a few hundred rounds through it and it preforms well.

| Most practical is the 45-2.2 1/4; what we all wrongly call a 45-90, but that was a Winchester express cartridge firing 300 grain bullets only. Or the 40-65 is nice with 400 grain bullets; both are MOA or thereabouts, rifles. The 50s are nice, but can be finicky. If you only want to shoot smokeless powder, get a 45-70, but I can't fathom that. |
